Milena Ivkovic joined Play the City in September 2011.
Milena is an experienced researcher and designer, acting as an advisor on diverse international projects covering large range of contemporary urban design issues, from mobility and transport environments to urban farming and co-creation. Besides running her own Rotterdam-based research and consultancy practice Blok74, she collaborates with different designers, computer programmers and artists in promoting serious games for urban environment and strengthening the connections between physical and digital world. In 2011, she worked together with Brussels-based Yellow Design Foundation on a series of urban mobility research projects in both Europe and Asia. In the past she has worked for the renowned Dutch offices Rein Geurtsen en Partners and KuiperCompagnons, as well as for the City Development Office of the Municipality of Rotterdam. Born in Belgrade, Serbia, Milena received her Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture and Urbanism degrees at Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade. Next to teaching urban design at the Department of Urbanism of the same university, she also collaborated with the IAUS, Serbian Institute of Architecture and Urbanism as a researcher exploring the redevelopment of the post-communism cities.
